L is the longer horizontal side, W the shorter, and H the usable inner height of the base. The base is a bottom panel with four walls; the lid slips over the outside. Inner, die-face, and outer follow one board caliper; die-face means crease to crease.
Folding cartons are commonly 0.3โ1.2 mm; this page allows 0.2โ5 mm.
Base: inner L, W, H equal the die-face. Outer L = die-face L + 2T, W = die-face W + 2T, H = die-face H + T. The lid has no second form field; its panel is the base outer plus a per-side clearance.
Both the base and the lid are a bottom (or top) panel with four walls. The left and right walls each carry two glue tabs that fold inward onto the front and back walls. The lid panel is slightly larger and its walls are about 0.7H for a partial telescope.
Lid panel = base outer + 2c (per side c = clamp(T + 0.6, 0.8, 3.0) mm); wall height = clamp(0.7H, 12, H).

A lid-and-base box is a two-piece telescoping set: the base is a shallow tray, and the slightly larger lid slips over it. Both are a bottom (or top) panel with four walls. The left and right walls carry two glue tabs each; they fold inward and glue to the front and back walls. The lid panel is larger than the base outer by c per side, where c = clamp(T + 0.6, 0.8, 3.0) mm. The lid wall height = clamp(0.7 ร H, 12, H). The base inner and die-face are equal because the walls fold outside the bottom panel; the outer envelope adds T per side and T in height. This page is a flat die only: no 3D fold preview and no DXF. Units are mm. Check the dimensions before cutting.
